One of the most difficult things for me to learn to do was to do nothing. Being able to sit in stillness and silence did not come naturally to me. I held a very strong belief that doing nothing meant that I was accomplishing nothing. I did not have time for that - too many things to do, too many places to go. But I came to realize that by taking just a few moments once or twice a day to quiet my mind and still my body allowed me to connect with my True Self. Your True Self is always in perfect harmony with Source, Cosmic Intelligence, Universal Love, God, Brahman. Your True Self is a field of Pure Potentiality, and this connection is how you really get things done! Meditation creates the space for this connection.

Stress has been proven to be a leading contributor of chronic illness and so the reduction of stress alone has an immense positive impact on our health. In recent years there has been extensive scientific research on the effects of meditation that has proven what ancient spiritual practices have been teaching us for thousands of years. The best part: Anyone can meditate, and you need only a few moments and a relatively quiet place.

Primordial Sound Meditation is a mantra meditation technique rooted in India’s ancient Vedic tradition.

Deepak Chopra has revived this meditation technique after conferring with Vedic scholars in India and the US to make it accessible to anyone seeking the benefits of meditation. In this 4-part program, we use Vedic astrology, or Jyotish, to calculate your personal mantra. This powerful mantra is based on the primordial sound of the Universe at the time and place of your birth. We will also explore the origins of meditation, delve into the extensive benefits of a regular practice, and guide you with practical tips on how to make your practice most effective. In our final session, we will discuss higher levels of consciousness. With a regular meditation practice, you may have glimpses, if not profound experiences, of higher consciousness.

Each of us are unique beings, with unique experiences and circumstances. When and where you meditate will be unique to you so scheduling your classes is flexible! Here are some guidelines to keep in mind: Allow 1 1/2 to 2 hours for each session. We also recommend that you allow at least 2 weeks and a maximum of 6 weeks to complete the program. This will help you firmly establish a foundation for a regular practice moving forward.
